Day-to-Day Responsibilities

This position involves making espresso drinks, preparing food, and providing excellent customer service. Operating coffee equipment, including a vintage espresso machine, is key.

You’ll also handle sales using a Square POS system and take part in maintaining a friendly, clean café environment. A love for pottery and plants is a plus here.

Part of the day will be spent serving food from a small menu and helping customers pick out items for purchase. Flexibility in hours is provided.

Most shifts are part-time with a target of 20+ hours per week. Shifts often begin or end slightly outside opening hours for setup and closing tasks.

With paid training, you can learn the ropes even if you’re newer to some aspects of the role, especially food prep or vintage machine use.

Pros of This Job

An attractive hourly wage of $15 stands out, especially for part-time work with flexibility built in. Paid training means you can confidently learn and grow.

The friendly atmosphere and emphasis on customer interaction help make every day enjoyable. Skills in barista work and customer relations can set you up for future roles.

Cons to Consider

There may be physical aspects, including standing for most of your shift and managing food or drink orders quickly. Busy periods may mean occasional periods of pressure.

The work involves mastering a manual espresso grinder and a vintage machine, which can take time and attention to detail, especially for newcomers.

Our Verdict

This barista/cashier role is a solid fit for those who want flexibility, value teamwork, and have a passion for food and coffee culture. It’s a welcoming spot to build skills.

The paid training, friendly workspace, and emphasis on customer care make it a compelling choice for anyone seeking part-time work with meaningful daily interactions.
